Blue at Ab2 grounds the bass in gray. Ab4 and Ab5 brighten the blue through mid and upper registers. The accents warm the upper half: red at C5, orange at D5, yellow-orange at A6 — three warm colors ascending alongside the cool blue. The painting balances cool and warm in alternating layers.

The only Modéré Ab study — a measured pace between the soft and animated variations, the blue framework clear, the warm accents adding depth without overwhelming. The waltz climbs steadily, neither rushed nor lingering.
