Description
Db octaves — six notes, the valley dipping to Db2 before returning. Db appears at Db2, Db4, Db6 — three registers of blue-green. Accents: blue-violet at Eb3, violet at Bb5, yellow-green at B6. Played Animé, mp, legato, in four.
Blue-green at Db2 compresses toward black. Db4 brightens to its characteristic hue. Db6 lightens near the top. Between them: blue-violet at Eb3 cools the lower-middle, violet at Bb5 holds cool color in the upper register, and yellow-green at B6 adds a warmer note at the peak. The accents are all cool or near-cool — no warm visitors in this étude.
An entirely cool study — blue-green octave tones surrounded by blue-violet, violet, and yellow-green accents. The canvas lives in the cool half of the spectrum from bottom to top, the valley shape tracing a path through shades of teal and purple.
