A small piano étude translated into color. The Db Octaves octave — Db4, Db6, etc— appears here as blue-green toward green, the chromesthetic translation of this chord. The spread voicing spans from Eb3 to B6, opening across the paper the way it opens across the keyboard. A touch of blue-violet, violet, yellow-green drifts quietly outside the harmony.
