Description

G octaves — four notes, the arch rising from G2 to G5. G appears at G2, G4, G5 — three registers of red-orange. Played Lent, mp, legato, in four — slow, meditative, the line folding back from the crest.

Red-orange toward gray — G's warm hue darkening at G2, brightening at G4, reaching its most saturated at G5. The canvas is entirely warm — no cool tones, no blue or violet. Orange-red graduating from gray to warmth, the accent a step warmer still.

G explored in red-orange — three octaves of a single warm hue, one yellow-orange accent above. The arch is gentle, the palette narrow, the étude a quiet study in the warmth of the fifth note of the C major scale.
